I am a mixed media artist living in Northern California. I have worked in a wide range of media throughout my artistic career, which is demonstrated in my body of work. For me it’s never been about the medium, it’s about the idea and how I can best convey the concept. My two and three-dimensional pieces are narrative in nature. They have been described as wry interpretations of our culture and society as I respond to personal transitions and global and societal issues.

I have been an active artist and educator for the past five decades. I have exhibited at the Detroit Art Institute, Museum of Art and Design, NY. Bronx Museum, Museo ItaloAmericano, San Francisco, and Long Beach Museum of Art, CA. among others. I have been the recipient of grants from the California Arts Council, William James Foundation and a Fulbright-Hays Fellowship. I was invited to teach at the Beijing Institute of Education in China in 2015 and in 2017. I taught elementary and secondary art in the Boston area and have taught textiles and art education at universities in Philadelphia, Atlanta, and Long Beach, CA. I am professor emerita at Humboldt State University where I developed the art education program and taught design.
